Results after Treatment

Below are typical examples of results at Youngify. The reason these results are possible is because of using a neuroscience approach, and not a traditional approach.

Please note that individual results vary, for example depending on the complexity of the problem and frequency of booking.


On a Friday evening, Tania had a fall downstairs, outside in the dark and landed heavily, severely crunching her left knee. She was in extreme pain, suffering a quadriceps muscle tear (grade 2) and patellofemoral joint strain, her knee swelled immediately and Tania was unable to walk without crutches.

Tania attended Youngify the following Monday morning, unable to bend her knee much and not able to stand on that leg. Tania was concerned about a trip to Sydney with her daughters which would involve a lot of stairs and walking hills.

8 days and 5 appointments later, Tania could put full weight on the leg and bend down a small amount without pain. Tania’s shin turned a dull purple by this time as the internal blood from the injury tracked down her shin under the skin–evidence of the extent of the muscle tear.

After 2 weeks and a total of 8 appointments, Tania had no knee pain and could squat and bend her knee fully. She went to Sydney the next day and had no pain and no problems in Sydney and fully enjoyed the time with her daughters.


For more than one year, Mohammad had upper back pain, neck pain and radiating nerve pain down his right arm.
The neck MRI showed Straightening in February 2022. The shoulder MRI in March 2022 showed supraspinatus tendinopathy. He had Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injection in the shoulder followed soon after by a cortisone injection. In April 2022 he had a PRP injection in the rhomboid muscle side, and in May 2022 cortisone injection at T1-C7. Mohammad tried getting help from multiple practitioners.
Nothing helped.

Mohammad lives in Saudi Arabia and learned about how Michael’s team does Ridgway Method (RM) at Youngify in Brisbane.
Mohammad tried remote consultations via FaceTime with Michael and a practitioner in Saudi Arabia applying RM to the neck and shoulder and there was more improvement than other treatments.
Mohammad took a quick and brave decision to travel to Brisbane (17 hrs flight) and do the full treatment at Youngify.
Within 3 weeks Mohammad had 100% movement and 99% pain-free in his neck, shoulder, upper back and right arm.

When Mohammad returned to Saudi Arabia he was able to apply the strategies needed to keep pain-free for the future, including how to train in his local gym with his trainer (see image).


Kelly heard about Youngify via an online post of Mohammad (above) and got her son in for treatment.

Luke had 2.5 years of back pain and radiating nerve pain in his hip and leg.

Injections, radiofrequency neurotomies and common physiotherapy didn't help enough.

Using neuroscience to test and treat where the Main Problem helped more.


Denise complained of weakness in her right hip and an inability to lift her leg.
She was too weak to be able to raise her leg on a step,
get in her car, or get on the treatment table without lifting her leg with her hands.
She also had back pain.

Denise asked what the causes of these issues were, and why strengthening the hip with previous practitioners hadn't worked to make the hip stronger, or to relieve her back pain.
When I test muscle weakness in a client, I’ve found that in nearly all cases where pain or injury are involved, the weakness is because of muscle inhibition, and NOT a lack of strengthening.

During Denise’s appointment, we released strain to the Main Problem in this client's body.
By the end of the appointment, Denise could lift her leg with full strength and no pain.
The images below show what this looked like. This improvement was long-lasting.

What is muscle inhibition?
And why was the inhibition there in the first place?
Inhibition occurs when the nervous system sends too few electrical signals to the muscles. As a result, the muscles do not contract hard enough to provide the force required, in this case, to lift the leg.
Inhibition is one of the nervous system’s ways of protecting against strain in our bodies.
The good news is that when the strain has been released the strength immediately returns. When I say immediately, I mean within 300 milliseconds (to be technical!).
The strength returns rapidly because as soon as the nervous system has less reason to protect, it starts sending more electrical signals to contract the muscle, thus providing more force (to lift the leg in this case).

Wim had been struggling with shoulder and arm nerve pain for a year. He had tried multiple practitioners including physiotherapists with no success and was in so much pain he couldn’t sit still and wriggled constantly in an attempt to find relief.

The pain interfered with his work, cycling and everyday life.

After 10 days since first visiting Youngify, he was pain-free and back to being able to enjoy his healthy activities.

More than a year later Wim remains pain-free.

When we met Kate she was struggling and frustrated, she loved going to the gym and working out, but a long history of pain in her lower back, hip and down her leg, was preventing her from training.

Joy suffered severe hamstring pain following squats during her morning outdoor exercise routine.
She had to drag her leg and limp home that morning.

Joy tried her local physio for 2 weeks without much improvement and decide to try Youngify.

Joy limped into Youngify and had significant improvement and walked out on the first day without a limp.

19 days later Joy was walking pain-free and 10 days following that she was doing all her exercises pain-free.

Jocelyn limped into Youngify 9 days after suffering a 42 x 22mm tear in her left calf muscle (shown on ultrasound), she was in a lot of pain and struggling to stand on her leg.

She was worried about this being a long-term injury and that it would mean having to avoid exercise, healthy activity and other things she enjoyed in life. At her first appointment, Jocelyn couldn't stand on her left leg, lift her heel off the ground or stretch her calf behind her.

Her goal was to be able to walk without a limp, climb stairs again and exercise pain-free and have no long-term damage or weakness. Jocelyn attended daily appointments initially and 14 days later Jocelyn walked with no limp, did calf raises without pain, was able to climb stairs with no pain and exercise fully, and she remains that way months later.


Is youngify right for your type of pain problem?


David* experienced chronic hip pain caused by hip osteoarthritis, which greatly affected his mobility and daily activities. Sitting, squatting, riding a bike, and even getting a good night's sleep became challenging due to the persistent pain that seemed to randomly generate in various parts of his body.

Having tried a few physiotherapists who focused on manipulation and exercises, David didn't find the relief he was seeking. The surgeon suggested considering surgery but advised him to explore other options first. That's when David reached out to Youngify in hopes of finding better help.

At Youngify, David received targeted care, and after just 17 days, he experienced significant improvements. He could sleep without pain, perform squats, sit comfortably, and even ride his bike with minimal discomfort. Encouraged by these positive changes, David went on to plant hundreds of trees on his property in the following weeks, experiencing minimal pain and no major issues. Luke came limping into the clinic all bent over. He had severe back pain following a gym workout and hadn’t been able to get out of bed the days prior to coming to Youngify. 18 days after his first session he was pain-free and able to start back at training.

Luke had repeated back pain over the years and, as an educator and health practitioner, he was sceptical about how much help we could provide. More than 8 months later Luke is pain-free, training and able to do all his healthy activities.

Jackie was in pain and struggling to push through work and training for multiple years. She had big goals for long-distance swimming but was frustrated by being unable to improve her training due to pain and restriction. Jackie had seen multiple practitioners with varying results but no long-term solution.

The images above show Jackie’s improvements which started happening in less than 300 milliseconds. Within 2 weeks, with this treatment, we were able to help Jackie become mostly pain-free and able to extend herself with training and be more productive with work.

Jackie was able to achieve her goals and more than a year later Jackie continues to move and feel young.

Richard was left uncomfortable and suffering after he felt sudden extreme back pain following an uneventful day of gardening.

This was another flare-up of his recurrent back pain, which had stopped him from being able to play tennis for years and left him frustrated that he was unable to do everything he enjoyed in life.

The day after this flare he came to Youngify, and 15 days later he was pain-free and back to gardening, going to PT and playing tennis without pain.

More than 6 months later Richard is still pain-free and is now able to do everything he wants in life.

Drew was fed up and tired of his chronic shoulder and neck pain and the migraines it caused. He had put up with frequent and recurring pain for years and was sick of it putting him out of action and interrupting his work and everyday life.

Drew had seen other practitioners in the past but could only get relief and improvements that lasted 1-2 days. He came to Youngify after hearing about us from a family member, and within 6 DAYS his headache frequency and intensity had decreased by 90% and he was able to get back to life without the constant fear and anticipation of another migraine. 4 months later and Drew is still enjoying these results.

We met Jane at one of our gym consults. She had just finished a high-intensity training session and had the same back and knee pain she had been frequently getting after exercising.

Jane was sick of having to be overly cautious every time she worked out and was concerned it was only going to get worse. She booked in to see what we could do for her and after a few appointments, we found that the cause of her pain was a disc in her lower back. It improved immediately with manual releases and after being treated for 10 days, Jane was completely pain-free during and after high-intensity workouts. With our help, we taught her to exercise with correct muscle firing and not reaccumulate strain. More than six months later, and she is still training at high intensity without problems.

Darcy had ongoing headaches and neck pain. He was unable to sleep, he couldn't train and it was affecting his ability to operate machinery at work.

Darcy was a past client of ours, and he had experienced the improvements Youngify could provide for a different problem, and knew we would be able to help with his headaches and neck pain.

Within 14 days, Darcy was pain-free and had his full movement restored. He was able to get back to training comfortably and was able to operate at work without discomfort or worry.

Joel came into our clinic with ankle pain and restricted movement, which affected his ability to walk and run. He had tried surgery, but it did not fix his problem. After 4 sessions with us and a thorough investigation, we found that we couldn't fix his problem either.

We were able to get temporary results but not the lasting improvements we would usually see. We provided Joel with a rehab plan, to manage his problem as best as possible, and referred him to other specific practitioners. Even though it was not what he had originally hoped for, Joel was happy with this result and had a plan for the immediate future.

Youngify's mascot and family member Zeus was getting too hot and uncomfortable, his long fur was making it hard to enjoy running around and playing with his family. Trainee grooming practitioner Michael knew he would be able to help. Within a few hours, Michael had given Zeus a shorter, more warm weather-appropriate shave.
